Bookmark SAL - October

Welcome to the tenth part of the Bookmark SAL! This month there are many options available for how to stitch and finish this month's pattern! The pattern itself has four sizes on it - shown as three options because option three has two possible lengths, but you can do so much more with it!

This is my version - I stitched it on 3" / 7.5 cm banding. It's a bit too chunky for a paper back so I have also marked the area needed for 2"/ 5 cm banding. Of course not everyone has banding on hand and you might even want to make it two sided as when folded in half it lines up perfectly if you do the width that's one stitch wider than the 3" / 7.5 cm banding! Naturally I added that to the pattern so you can do that.

But there are more things you can do with this pattern!

• You can do just cross stitch by replacing the backstitched bands with the cross stitched flower bands.
• You can do all backstitch by replacing the cross stitched flower bands with the backstitched ones.
• You can skip the backstitched bands and leave that space blank.
• You can skip the cross stitched flower bands and leave that space blank.
• You can leave out one or more bands and cross stitch or backstitch a name.
• You can make it as long or short as you like - or even stitch it as an all over pattern for a matching pillow!
• You could swap out the orange for a multi coloured thread and have the flowers in lots of colours.
• You could use up lots of leftover threads on the flowers and bands too!

Basically you can have a lot of fun with this pattern!
