WIP Wednesday

As always I'm starting with my Vakje per Week. This time the pattern was a rather large one and my space rather tiny so instead of doing two whole and a partial shape I offset it all and did lots of partial ones.

Wip Wednesday - A Two Week Wrap Up

Unfortunately not everything goes to plan in life and last week's WIP Wednesday blog was one of the casualties of this. This week I have succeeded at making the post so I hope you enjoy the pictures! As always I'm starting with the Vakje Per week which you can see has had 2 weeks worth of stitching since you last saw it.

WIP Wednesday

It's WIP Wednesday and somehow, despite all the busyness of doing daily patterns and doing the pre-holiday blog post writing work, I have actually found time to stitch too. As always first the Vakje per week. Last Friday's pattern was a darning pattern, and as has become their habit there were 2 pattern options: darned and cross stitched. And as always I did both.

WIP Wednesday

It's that time of the week when I show off what I have done during the past week - or not as the case may be... This week in Vakje per week I got to have some fun making a mistake and NOT ripping it!

WIP Wednesday(ish)

Last week I showed you the end of a row of my Vakje per week - and the last of this batch of greens. This week I can show you the start of a new row and a new colour: brown

June TUSAL

My little jar where I keep the ORT's
My jar is looking a bit full as I've been very busy again this month which means this post will be very picture heavy! For those of you wondering what on earth a TUSAL is: it stands for Totally Useless Stitch-A-Long and its just keeping all your threads etc. from stitching in a jar and then posting once a month (or so) what you stitched since the last post.

WIP Wednesday

Last week I showed you the two variations offered for the Vakje per week project, last Friday they only gave one pattern (fortunately!)

WIP Wednesday

Last week was the first of the odd shaped boxes for the Vakje per week, this week the next. The pattern given last Friday was a darning pattern and because some people were having trouble with the darning patterns on Aida they also gave a cross stitched alternate version.

WIP Wednesday

Yes, this week I did do the Vakje per week, it was a nice pattern and with a bit of tweaking to the space I wanted to use it fit nicely too. I had to tweak it because of not doing the one before that I didn't like (and wouldn't fit as it was a full alphabet)

WIP Wednesday

Last week I had a bit of fun doing some speciality stitches for the Vakje per week, This week it's back to cross stitch again - a lovely little pattern that was done in no time - especially as I was doing it in a box that's only 27 stitches square.

WIP Wednesday

Last week saw the finish of a row of mini squares on my Vakje per week - this week sees the start of a row of slightly larger squares. The pattern was challenging, despite my love of Algerian eye stitches, as the directional change kept on throwing me off - and let me tell you that it's no fun ripping out tiny Algerian eyes!

WIP Wednesday

This is where I left off last week with the Vakje per week: just one box left to fill the row. Last week's pattern was fortunately a LOT easier to do, with the most difficult part being where to place the repeat.

WIP Wednesday and finishes

Here is a little reminder of where I was last week with the Vakje per week. This week I continued with the trend of small squares - very happily so as the pattern this week was a darning pattern and I have found that I'm not such a fan of doing them.

WIP Wednesday: The SAL's and non WIP's

Having realised I was running out of space faster than expected last week I started a row of smaller squares - this week I continued that on the opposite side as that way I'd be able to get more of the crowns in that were this week's pattern. My plan for this row is a row of 1 x 20 stitches square box , 2 x 19 wide by 20 high boxes and then finishing with a 1 x 20 stitch square box.

WIP Wednesday: The SAL's and More!

Having done those really big boxes last week on the Vakje per week I realised I needed to be more careful as it was only April and I am getting close to the half way mark of the fabric. So this week I went the opposite way - instead of dividing the width of the fabric in half after removing the 3 stitches I have between each box. I first removed 3 lots of 3 stitches and divided the rest into 4 to make 4 mini boxes. Unfortunately this did not create 4 equal boxes - I get 2 x 20 and 2 x 19 stitches wide - by 20 high. But it will work out as long as I keep them mirrored.

WIP Wednesday: The SAL's

As always I like to start with a photo of what things looked like last week so you can more easily see the progress made rather than having to go spot the difference between this post and last week’s post.

WIP Wednesday: SAL updates

As always I'm starting off with a picture of how my version of the Vakje per Week looked last week just so you can more easily see what changed since then.

WIP Wednesday: SAL Updates

Last week I showed you my Vakje per Week which looked like this with the trees being the most recent addition to the embroidery. This week's pattern was lovely and easy and I was able to finish it on Saturday - the same day the pattern was released!

WIP Wednesday: SAL updates

It's been a busy week for me and the weekend was even busier as my bf was over for the weekend! As a result I didn't get so much stitching done (I bet that was a surprise lol) but I did get some stitching done as my bf is wonderful and supportive. The first image is the Vakje per Week SAL as you saw it last week. Below you can see where I ended up this week.
