Medieval Owl SAL - December

Welcome to the December edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month you get the final part of this SAL! I hope you have enjoyed stitching this even if it was a bit more of a challenge than most of my SALs. On Sunday things got a bit exciting for me while doing the last part of stitching this - I ran out of 3371 just 42 stitches before I'd finished with the colour! While it might be a simple thing to get more - here in the Netherlands shops are closed on Sunday's and often on Monday morning too - and my local needlework shop is closed all day Monday. To top if off this is the week of parcels arriving (I need to be home for them as I don't want a cross town bicycle trip with my joints playing up), so I ordered the threads online and hoped that they'd arrive in time to finish the stitching.

Medieval Owl SAL - October

Welcome to the October edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month you get the last bit of body: the chest! The next two parts are the head that you can see above! This month's pattern didn't get completely stitched - it's been a busy few weeks with the KLT vs Jodyri challenge AND in day to day life. Between a day trip to Utrecht with oldest to check out the new Lego shop (first in the country!), let oldest go to the skateboard shop to buy a shiny new skateboard, and a bit of roaming around checking out the many shops and buildings yesterday, and clearing out the shed in preparation for tomorrows trip to the dump with a rental van, I've worn myself out and wasn't able to do much stitching.

Medieval Owl SAL - September

Welcome to the September edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month it's right on time! Makes a nice change doesn't it? Hehehe. This month's pattern I had also stitched back in January to show what the blue looked like once stitched as it was such an unexpected colour for this project.

Medieval Owl SAL - August

Welcome to the August edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month it's a little late but not as late as July fortunately. This month I had stitched back in January to show what the blue looked like once stitched as it was such an unexpected colour for this project. Health wise things are getting better - it appears that I have finally beaten the infection and I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things - starting with the backlog of cleaning as my house was a bit of a pit after a month of barely any cleaning.

As you may have noticed I have been prioritising the projects on my blog that can't be finished without the next patterns - the rest will be caught up as soon as I'm able. I'm sorry for keeping you waiting for those patterns.

Medieval Owl SAL - July

Welcome to the July edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month is very, very late. Unfortunately I'm not sure what happened to the original post that I'd written and set to publish - all I know is that it didn't and that I can't find it on my blog - it appears to have vanished without trace from the face of the internet. Much oddness but here is the new version after all - I'm sorry for the delay in posting.

Medieval Owl SAL - June

Welcome to the June edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month you get to add the first part of the tail! My health issues have been cheerfully continuing as per usual and as so many times already this month they have affected my stitching. I'm just 163 stitches (and 16 colours) short of completing this month's section as I type this. I did get the first six colours done - which added up to 503 stitches, so I didn't do too badly for a day's stitching.

Medieval Owl SAL - May

Welcome to the May edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month you get to add another bit above the legs with a nice boat like prow!

Tuesday, 16 April 2019

Medieval Owl SAL - April

Welcome to the April edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month you get the second part of the owl itself - part of the body and wing! It's going to look a little odd now, especially as your version doesn't have the "roof" that I do on my house on legs!

Medieval Owl SAL - March

Welcome to the March edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month you finally get the first part of the owl and for many this will be the first part as they have chosen not to do the border. If you are one of these people please read this post carefully or your poor owl will have an amputated toe! Yes that's right - the March pattern does not have all of the owls toe.

Medieval Owl SAL - February

Welcome to the February edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! Hopefully those of you who have decided to do the border managed to get the first half finished as today you get the second half!

Medieval Owl SAL - January

Welcome to the January edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! Hopefully you saw my message in the Facebook group that said that I had added a picture showing how the parts will be given to the information post - if not have a look here. This month you get half the border to stitch - next month the rest.

Medieval Owl SAL

This has got to be one of the most complicated patterns I have ever offered as a SAL. But he's so fun I couldn't resist! I found this little chap hidden away in an illuminated manuscript some years ago, sadly I can't remember which one any more as that would have been fun to include right now but I'm pretty sure it was a bestiary, and have been fiddling around with the pattern ever since.
