NFSAL 2020 - December

Welcome to the final part of this year's NFSAL posts! It's been a fun year for this SAL, though I haven't been able to stitch them as often as I'd liked. Carla Eldridge was going to do the stitching this year but work and corona got in the way of her being able to keep up, so I did the best I could when I could. Next year I'll be doing the stitching myself because corona is still out there and Carla is still working really hard so doesn't have the time. I hope Carla does find stitching time soon, it's good for the soul!

NFSAL 2020 - November

Welcome to the eleventh part of this year's NFSAL posts! Yesterday I was thinking happily that I was on top of all the things and didn't have any SAL stuff left today - and then I saw the NFSAL post was still due today... talk about a yikes moment. I didn't get the backstitched part complete this month but I did do the cross stitch (not that it's all that much).

NFSAL 2020 - October

Welcome to the tenth part of this year's NFSAL posts! This month I not only finished the stitching but I did a pretty fancy finish to it too! I got pictures made for part of it but I didn't take photos of the lace edging I crocheted as I'm not really very good at crochet and was making it up as I went along - I can tell you what I did so if you know how to do basic crochet then you too can achieve the finish I did!

NFSAL 2020 - September

Welcome to the ninth of this year's NFSAL posts! I was finally feeling up to doing stuff and promptly overdid it - I'm sure my body saw what I was plotting for the weekend and decided the only way to avoid it all as a nice flare up of my rheumatism. On the plus side the 24 hour blood pressure test I had two weeks ago has shown that my blood pressure is fine as is and I don't need blood pressure meds after all - so there is that. I did start this month's NFSAL but only got the one stitch in - not exactly enough to show much of anything.

NFSAL 2020 - August

Welcome to the eighth of this year's NFSAL posts! As you may have read in my previous post things haven't been going too well for me this year health wise, which is why there isn't a stitched NFSAL this month.

NFSAL 2020 - July

Welcome to the seventh of this year's NFSAL posts! This month hasn't been much better than the last with time etc for stitching so I "cheated" and only did a section of the pattern - which is 1/8th of it. Not much but enough to show what each of the eight sections look like with the backstitching done.

NFSAL 2020 - June

Welcome to the sixth of this year's NFSAL posts! This month life happened and I had forgotten to check in with Carla till it was to late - I thought I had but with the way I'm feeling it's not too surprising that I hadn't.  I started with the backstitched outlines but I wasn't able to finish on time. So this month you get computer generated images - sorry about that.

NFSAL 2020 - May

Welcome to the fifth of this year's NFSAL posts! This month I'll only be showing Carla Eldridge's stitching - she'd had some stitching time and did some serious berserker stitching to not only catch up but get this month's pattern done ahead of time!

NFSAL 2020 - April

Welcome to the fourth of this year's NFSAL posts! This month I stitched the NFSAL myself as I liked it so much I just *had* to - and then I made it into a tortellini shape! I wrote a tutorial for it so you too can make a tortellini with a square shape embroidery if you wish. You can find the tutorial here

NFSAL 2020 - March

Welcome to the third of this year's NFSAL posts! This month I stitched the NFSAL myself as Carla Eldridge, who usually stitches these, is off being a hero as she's one of the many people involved with keeping things going. Obviously after a hard day's work that is extra stressful because of all that's going on she's far too tired to stitch, which is more than understandable.

NFSAL 2020 - February

Welcome to the second of this year's NFSAL posts! This month my model stitcher for this SAL, Carla Eldridge, was unable to stitch this month's pattern in time so I'm showing a computer generated image instead. It's still very pretty and is just full cross stitches this month! I have seen some lovely versions of the January pattern showing up in the Facebook group and elsewhere already! They are so beautiful!

NFSAL 2020 - January

Welcome to the first of this year's NFSAL posts! This year I probably won't be able to stitch them all but the very wonderful Carla Eldridge is going to be stitching them instead as my model stitcher! If you have read the announcement post you will have seen that Carla and I have been in this from the beginning so I'm extra happy that she is again going to do the model stitching for this year. You can read Carla's post on her blog - it's a fun read and she gives tips on things she encountered while stitching as well! Always handy!

NFSAL 2020 - Announcement Post

A bit later than planned but it took a lot more work than expected. This post will explain more about the NFSAL. I'm going to shamelessly copy parts of the post that Carla made over on Deviant Art last year (with permission of course!), and with a few additions, to help explain things as she is a big part of what the NFSAL is and has become over the years.
