Happy Friday! This week I thought I'd make a little Easter egg that can be stitched up as a last minute ornament or card. It can be stitched in two ways even so even if you don't celebrate Easter but want to have some Spring in your house or send a happy card to someone then this pattern will work for that too!
I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.

Easter Freebie 4: Mini Blackwork Box Pillow
Today is the last day of the Easter freebies, I hope you have enjoyed the patterns! Today's pattern is quite a large project for its small size - if you make the front, back and 4 side panels there is 451.27 inches of backstitching!

Easter Freebie 3: Little Easter Flower Fob
Today's Easter freebie is a really tiny one! If stitched on 18ct Aida it's a mere 1 1/4" square! At just 22 stitches per side it's tiny no matter which size fabric you decide to use - 14ct Aida (or 28ct evenweave when done 2 over 2) would come in at not quite 1 2/3" square. It's a great fob size or even as a charm for on your bag or keys, or, if you can take the weight, it would do as an earring too!
Of course you can use any colour you like instead of the orange, I just happen to love the bright cheerfulness of orange but perhaps you'd prefer blue, purple or pink instead.
Finished using orange craft thread for the tassel and cord and TOHO seed beads TR-11-174 - Trans-Rainbow Lt Hyacinth

WIP Wednesday: The SAL's and More!
Having done those really big boxes last week on the Vakje per week I realised I needed to be more careful as it was only April and I am getting close to the half way mark of the fabric. So this week I went the opposite way - instead of dividing the width of the fabric in half after removing the 3 stitches I have between each box. I first removed 3 lots of 3 stitches and divided the rest into 4 to make 4 mini boxes. Unfortunately this did not create 4 equal boxes - I get 2 x 20 and 2 x 19 stitches wide - by 20 high. But it will work out as long as I keep them mirrored.

Easter Eggs 3 & 4
As you may have read in my previous post I'm on an Easter egg ornament stitching binge while stitching up the 6 Easter egg patterns NevaSirenda has made available using her Ukrainian heritage as inspiration. The egg above is the third egg and second largest of them all which I finished into a 3 5/8" x 2 1/4" egg. It was the most complicated of the eggs due to the many colour changes so it's taken me the longest of all of them to stitch. I used yellow silver lined seed beads to stitch it together.
