I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.

Ornament of the Month 2020 - March
Welcome to the third Ornament of the Month for 2020! This month I not only had time to do the finishing for February but I also completely stitched and finished March! So I'll first show pictures of February and then I'll show you what I created for March.
And here it is - it looks *so* much nicer finished! (You can find the pattern here). However you are here for the March ornament so here it is:
The ornaments are actually on the same background but I struggled a bit to make the blue show up as its proper colour.
This month I used DMC 598 and Kreinik #4 Very Fine Braid 014 for the stitching. I used TOHO TR-11-23F Silver-Lined Frosted Aquamarine seedbeads for the beading. For the cord and tassel I used a combination of DMC 598 and craft thread as the craft thread was too dark and I didn't have enough DMC 598 to make both the cord and tassel. The two colours mixed worked out pretty well in the end.
You can find the pattern here
You can find the construction tutorial here
Have a great weekend! I'll be back Tuesday with the next part of the Blackwork SAL!
