Day 8 has arrived and with that the second Celtic illuminated manuscript inspired stocking. This one I saw a couple of weeks ago and just had to use it for a stocking, there is something about the style of their backgrounds that draws me to make them into patterns.
As you can see it translates wonderfully to a stocking! With the old red and rose squares and the black gridding the small bits of gold Kreinik sparkle without being too ostentatious. In case it's not obvious from the pattern: the rose coloured blocks under the backstitch are all the same colour.
You can find the pattern here
I'll see you tomorrow with the next princess pattern!
I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.

Another lovely stocking! Those small patterns are a great opportunity to try out those lovely celit-ish backgrounds!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes they are! I have done quite a few as a result ;) But then medieval/Celtic art has a way of feeling so right for Christmas anyway IMO :)
