Since not everyone does the NYE Mystery SAL I am also making a separate post to wish everyone a happy New Year! I wish for all of you the best health possible, many good days and few bad days to follow the good. I also hope that you can find happiness in small things and not get thwarted by the old mean frog that makes you rip your stitches out.
I want to thank everyone for supporting me with my creativity - both by giving me the finances to be able to create via Ko-fi and PayPal and by sharing links to my posts, stitching my patterns and being supportive of others in my Facebook groups - all these things help and are much appreciated! Without all this I wouldn't be doing as much as I have been doing.
2020 is the year my blog will hit ten years of existence - on July 1st 2011 I made my very first post here, it wasn't much of a post and for a long time I mostly shared pictures of my quilting progress and recipes. I also shared stuff about my life, which I don't do as much as nothing much happens nowadays.
Initially I didn't share patterns on the blogger platform but over on Deviant Art - I haven't finished the process of moving all of my patterns here but it's something I hope to finish this year as it would be nice for everyone to be able to stitch any of my patterns without leaving my blog to do so.
When I did start sharing my patterns here people started finding me - especially in 2017 when I announced the Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler SAL which then lead to the formation of a Facebook group for it. The First NYE Mystery SAL also helped people find me and I made a fb group for that too NYE Mystery SAL.
So with all this in mind I set out to make my tenth year of blogging something spectacular and made ten SALs for people to join in with.
So thank you all - and to wrap things up I'm going to direct you to the pattern I made to go with the picture you can see at the top of the post - after all... we want to start the year off right!
Tulips and Windmills pattern
I'll be back later today with at least two more posts - If I can squeeze it in there will be three more! In no particular order (as I don't know yet) the Temperature and Seasons SALs both start today so those posts will happen later.
I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.

How fun to be here for the 10th anniversary of the blog, even if I've just discovered it this past year. I look forward to join in on a bunch of your SALs :) Very happy you've expanded the reach or I wouldn't have found you and your wonderful creativity and generosity with patterns. I hope you will have a great year xxxx

ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome - Happy New Year!
DeleteI do love your patterns. I did not have time for the New Year's Eve SAL this year but I hope to stitch it soon. I did last year's and I really enjoyed it. I am planning to finish the 2019 Blackwork SAL this week. Looking forward to a great year of stitching.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like them! It is a pity you didn't have time but then it was rather larger than usual. I'm so glad you enjoyed last year's! Awesome - I look forward to seeing it - unless I already saw it in the FB group :)
DeleteTen years of blogging is a huge achievement, how exciting :) I hope the year will go great for all of us.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I never expected it to last this long when I first started! Yes! We all need a great year :-)
