Bookmark SAL - SAL Announcement Post

Over the last year I've had more than one person ask if I do bookmarks... especially after I did the Pisac Weave Bookmark (which I used to make the banner above) back in March. I decided to give it a go and see what I could come up with over the coming year. You can expect different shapes and sizes - every month will be a surprise!

What:

  • This is a bookmark SAL.
  • The patterns will probably be 33 x 100 stitches at most.
  • As bookmarks vary in size and shape and even where you use them, the patterns will vary in size and shape per month, some will be larger than others.
  • The pattern is in cross stitch and/or backstitch.
  • There will be twelve monthly patterns.

Where:

  • All patterns are posted here on my blog.
  • There is a Facebook group to share progress and talk about the project here.

When:

  • New patterns will be given every second Friday of the month - there will be a "calendar" in the side bar so you can see the exact dates, which will be added sometime in December
  • I will start on the 10th of January 2020.

Fabric:

  • As I can't say in advance exactly what size the patterns will be I'm afraid I can't give fabric amounts. (Not all of the patterns have been designed yet, as is normal for me, as I like to spread the designing out over the year)
  • For this SAL I may occasionally suggest something other than fabric - for example perforated paper or plastic grid - you don't have to use them but it might make your life easier if you do.
  • You should be able to do many of these on offcuts from other projects.

Floss:

Floss amounts will be given in the pattern and can vary between 0.1 skein and 0.3 skein per colour depending on the size of the pattern and how many colours are used.

I'll see you tomorrow for the next SAL announcement post, Friday for a Friday Freebie, and Saturday for another SAL announcement post!
