Christmas in July: Day 17 - Celtic White and Gold

Its day 17 and time for another Christmas in July pattern. Today's pattern is inspired by an illuminated manuscript I saw (I see lots of them as I watch #medievaltwitter on twitter). The pattern and colour combination are very simple yet stylish. Although I did it white and gold you could do it in any combination you like.

Today is the 13th day of the Christmas in July freebies. Today's pattern is a nod to the Nordic style a simple red and white stocking in all DMC with only a small amount of straight stitches.

WIP Wednesday

It's WIP Wednesday and somehow, despite all the busyness of doing daily patterns and doing the pre-holiday blog post writing work, I have actually found time to stitch too. As always first the Vakje per week. Last Friday's pattern was a darning pattern, and as has become their habit there were 2 pattern options: darned and cross stitched. And as always I did both.

I bet you were not expecting this to show up! It's my youngest son's birthday and in The Netherlands it's the tradition to give people a treat (usually cake or something nice to eat). I thought I'd give you the gift of a pattern instead, I was sure you wouldn't mind!

Christmas in July: Day 1 - Red Gold and Green

Welcome to the first day of 31 where I give a free stocking pattern for you to (eventually) stitch! The good news is that I don't expect you to be able to stitch every single one during July! If you make the complete pattern for today, with left and right facing stockings you would stitch 2682 stitches and 38 inches of backstitch. Or just 1341 stitches and 19 inches of backstitch if you did just the one, but both are too much for most people to stitch in a day.
