Welcome to the back of the Summer Mystery SAL! It always feels weird to
say that but that's what you are getting this time - the optional back
that I make for those of you that want to make a two sided biscornu,
ornament, pincushion, or perhaps something else I haven't thought of. I'm also making this my final post for this mystery - other than the Temperature SAL later today I'm taking the weekend off - first time since I started the Mini Magical Mysteries back in March! Monday I'll be back a bit more rested than usual (hopefully) with the tenth Mini Magical Mystery SAL! As I said yesterday I hope you have had fun with this mystery and I can't wait to see what you do with yours! If anything, as sometimes fully stitched is fully finished!
This is what mine looks like after stitching part fourteen - hopefully the last bit of pattern was a nice surprise for all of you!
This is mine finished into a simple pillow - made slightly less simple by the beads I used...
Which you can see better here! I didn't stitch the back as I wasn't up to it and wanted to have it finished for this post.
I used four colours of seed bead with the same finish so they give the same amount of sparkle. They are (from left to right) TR-11-175 "Trans-Rainbow Lemon", TR-11-164 "Trans-Rainbow Lime Green", TR-11-174B "Trans-Rainbow Hyacinth", TR-11-165B "Trans-Rainbow Siam Ruby".
If you wish to see which fabric and threads I used look here
For the Back you will need all of the colours - stitch count as per the pattern.
You can find the pattern here
I do not expect anyone to be able to be
up to date at all times during the SAL - you need to eat and sleep at
the very least so expect to be "behind" part - if not all - of the time!
It's part of the nature of this type of
SAL for this to happen, so being "behind" is the normal state of
affairs. If you are a slow stitcher expect to finish "after" the SAL has
"finished" - though tbh the SAL is always available and new people find
the patterns on a regular basis so it's never really over.
On all social media sites the tag to use is: #MagicalMysterySAL - let's make the world see what we are up to!
PS: Don't forget you can ask all your questions in the comments below
and there is a Facebook group to share your stitching results etc. which
you can find here
Have a great weekend and see you Monday for the start of the next Mini Magical Mystery SAL!
I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.
