Happy Friday! This week is a no SAL post so instead I have a fun pattern for you! Although it's called A Study in Green you can do it in any colour or colours you like. The pattern calls for French knots but you can always use beads or colonial knots instead.
While some parts may look complicated they are not - the web like sections are all just straight stitches.
In the image above (actually made for a previous pattern) you can see that you work from one point to another in straight lines. Although the number of stitches isn't the same as in today's pattern the principle is the same - you start making straight stitches at one end and work your way round and before you know it you have a spider web like pattern!
If you prefer you can do all of the backstitched lines as straight stitches, which will make it much faster to stitch!
In the centre you do one corner then working clockwise (or anticlockwise if it's easier for you) you keep doing the corners with some of the threads going over threads of stitches you have done before.
I hope you enjoy this pattern as much as I enjoyed making it!
You can find the pattern here
Have a wonderful weekend and see you Tuesday for the next part of the Weavers Birds SAL!
I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.

Oh, another spirograph one! I do love these.
ReplyDeleteIndeed! I love making these but don't want to do them too often as I don't want to scare people off :)
