Welcome
to the third part of the Mamluk
SAL! This month we are going to do the third odd shaped part that
completes the full height of the left hand side - you can now see the
full width and height of the finished embroidery.
This
time there is no photo of my work... not because I haven't stitched it
but because I forgot to take a photo when doing the sample stitch for
this part and have already stitched more than I can show at this stage
so can't actually show you the stitched version - sorry about that!
Instead you can see the amazing work that my friend Carla Eldridge did in less than half an hour when I asked for her assistance! Go check out her blog - she blogs almost every day!
Please note that the patterns show the entire pattern area every month -
as time goes by the space will become covered in stitches. So what
shows as the middle this month IS the middle of the pattern.
This month there are 92 stitches for the original version and 92 stitches for the restored.
As of next month all the parts will be the same shape, though as always the stitch count will vary.
You can find the original pattern here
You can find the restored pattern here
If you are stitching this too and want to join us on Facebook just go to
the Facebook group and apply!
If you want to (also) join in on Instagram or Twitter all you need to do
is use the tag #MamlukSAL and/or my name
@Magical525 and I'll be sure to look in on your work and possibly even
re-tweet it if it's on Twitter!
I'll see you Friday with the second 25 x 25 for 2019.
I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.
