Finish it in 2019

Way back in 2012 I started attacking my Cross stitch UFOs (UnFinished Objects) that had been lurking in the back of a cupboard haunting me as they do if left too long. I got eight done that year, mostly smalls but still a good start. In 2013 I decided to make it a more "official" thing to do and called my project "Finish it in 2013" hoping to complete ALL of my UFO's that I had at the time. Unfortunately I didn't manage that and some are still UFOs to this day! Looking back I didn't do too much UFO finishing but I did still do a lot of things.

For 2019 I want to bring the project back to do two things:
  1. Hopefully finish a few of my older projects
  2. Keep more up to date with my current projects.
As its more fun to do large projects together I thought it would be fun if more people join in - so this is why I'm doing this as a SAL.

What:

  • This is a SAL to help finish UFO's, keep up to speed with WIPs and generally get the things done.
  • Anyone can join in.
  • You can use this for any craft - or any big project really - that you want to complete or work on in 2019

 Where:

  • You can post your updates on a blog, Instagram, twitter, dA, or Facebook etc.
  • There is a Facebook group to share progress and talk about this project and others here
  • Make sure to mention me in your post, and if it's a blog post a link on my blog (I'll let you know here to post the link when I make my posts), if it's not in the Facebook group so I can see your progress and cheer you on.

When:

  • Update posts are to be made every first Wednesday of the month - there is a "calendar" in the side bar so you can see the exact dates.
  • I will start on the 2nd of January 2019.

How:

  • For your first post you will list your UFO's (with picture) and say what you want to work on in 2019 If you want to work on a new project or current WIP then by all means do so! You don't have to stick to UFO's.
  • Every post after that you show what your progress is on these projects. You can find an example post here or here (first two pictures, the rest is other stuff)
  • You can add/remove projects at any time if you wish, just say so in the next post.
That's it really for this SAL - easy to join in with any project and a good way to keep track of how much you have really achieved in a year!

Still to come post wise: more Christmas patterns and the last two SAL posts - hopefully all before Christmas! Have a great day!

  1. I think this will be my main goal for next year's stitching - my WIP list is getting way out of hand!

    1. That sounds like a good idea then! Since you blog anyway you can easily sneak this in with another post if you are lacking time :)
