Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler SAL: Part 5

Welcome to the fifth week of the SAL! I hope you all had a good stitching week, I know I did but that's for another post. This week we get to the rump of the beasts but not yet as low as the tails.

There is an important SAL announcement at the bottom of the post so please read it all!
This week there is no mistaking that it's different from the banner! It's another high count stitching week as there are 618 stitches to do but I found that it went pretty quickly - even with the additional work from skipping bits last week (I ended up doing 767 stitches).
As mentioned I did the bits I'd skipped last week to keep the colour going the way I wanted it. I also cheated a little and finished off the points of the two leaves that are part of this week's pattern as I also wanted the colour on them to flow. I worked on the basis that since the tips are identical to the first leaves anyone would be able to finish them based on what was already there and what was known. For similar reasons I didn't do the partial diamonds in the central part as they will get finished next week and they can wait till then to do them all in one go.
It all looks so big in the photo's I've shown recently but here is a picture of the full embroidery at this moment - it suddenly doesn't look like that much any more does it? We have another four more weeks of this band before we start the next so there is still lots to do! Speaking of the next band... you will get the preview image for that in two weeks time with part seven so that you get two weeks to plan how you will stitch it should you be using more than one colour.

Just in case you need a reminder of the complete band...

You can find the black and white pattern here
You can find the colour pattern here

If you are stitching this too and want to join us on Facebook just go to the Facebook group and answer the two simple questions asked - if you are on mobile it won't be so obvious that there are two questions but there really are and if you don't answer both and don't respond to me asking you to fill in the last question (I offer help too!) then unfortunately I'll have to decline your application. The good news is that you are not banned from the group and can just apply again.

If you want to (also) join in on Instagram or Twitter all you need to do is use the tag #weaverstapestrybandsamplersal and/or my name @Magical525 and I'll be sure to look in on your work and possibly even re-tweet it if it's on Twitter!

Important SAL announcement:

As of next week the posting time will change for the SAL so I have a bit more time to offer assistance to people who may need it before heading to bed.- for some people that will also mean a day change, but not all (time zones and all that hehe)

The new time is two hours earlier than it has been - Tuesday 10 PM CET

You can look here to see what that means for your time zone: World Clock Event

I'll see you tomorrow/later with my weekly WIP Wednesday post and Friday for the weekly Friday Freebie!

    1. Hmm not sure what happened but I have edited the link in the sidebar and it should now work - thanks for letting me know!

In future if it doesn't work you can either click the home tab in the bar at the top and scroll down a little - the newest is generally not more than 4 posts down or you can look in the tags cloud on the left and click either "Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler SAL" or "WTBSS" so you won't have to wait for me to fix it - I always appreciate being told it's not working :D
