I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.

It's a No SAL Tuesday!
Happy Tuesday! This week there is no SAL as it's the 5th Tuesday of the month. As its World Embroidery Day today I thought I'd give you a new pattern instead. In health news: my infected finger was almost better and then decided to be infected again after all so I'm on strong antibiotics (which make me pretty icky) and still can't stitch having had to have another round of removing the puss from the finger *sigh*.

Friday Freebie: Geometric 1
Happy Friday! This week is a no SAL post so instead I have a fun pattern for you! This time it's all cross stitch and the pattern can be repeated endlessly! For those of you wondering: my finger is improving and having bought some rubber gloves I have been able to do the dishes myself too (the pile was a bit scary lol)

Friday Freebie: 25 x 25 for 2019 - July
Welcome
to the seventh of the 25 x 25 for 2019 patterns! This month it's very late - I had planned on doing it when I got back from the UK but I wasn't able to due to an infection in my left index finger. I got back and ended up having a minor operation to let the puss out of my finger (with a second follow up after as once wasn't enough). Its funny how much I actually use my left index finger for things - typing became impossibly slow as I had to type one handed. I can't hold my hoop to stitch and I can't do the dishes either (This wouldn't be so bad if the boys didn't refuse to help with that). Fortunately things are improving as I can now type again - though it's now too hot to even try to stitch but that's another thing altogether.
Blackwork SAL - July
Welcome to the seventh part of the Blackwork SAL! Things have not been going to plan the last few days as you will have noticed - but although this is a little late it's not as late as some of my recent posts, sorry about that. I'll get the 25 x 25 post up shortly - but I thought it was more important to get this post up more or less on schedule.

Medieval Owl SAL - July
Welcome to the July edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month is very, very late. Unfortunately I'm not sure what happened to the original post that I'd written and set to publish - all I know is that it didn't and that I can't find it on my blog - it appears to have vanished without trace from the face of the internet. Much oddness but here is the new version after all - I'm sorry for the delay in posting.

Friday Freebie: 50 x 50 for 2019 - July
Welcome back for the seventh edition of the 50 x 50 pattern series! This month I wasn't able to stitch this pattern at all.

NFSAL 2019 - July
Welcome to the seventh NFSAL of 2019! This month I didn't have time to
stitch the NFSAL so you get the computer generated image instead.

Mamluk Cross Stitch SAL - Part 7
Welcome to the seventh part of the Mamluk SAL! This month we are continuing the next row that we had more or less started when we stitched part three.

Friday Freebie: Ornament of the Month - July
Welcome
to the seventh Ornament of the Month for 2019! This month's colour is ruby - a LOT easier to stitch than last month's colour! It's been pretty hot here lately, so hot that stitching became impossible as I couldn't hold my needle without it slipping between my fingers. I haven't managed to stitch everything I wanted for this month but as I warned previously this might be the case this month anyway due to me taking some time off.

Weavers Birds SAL - Part 7
Welcome to the seventh part of the Weavers Birds SAL! This month you finish band three and start band four! Since the beginning of a band is always a bit more difficult for people picking colours I have included a key in this post so you know what you are stitching.
