Welcome to a Weavers Birds SAL special! It's Friday Freebie time and I thought it was high time everyone stitching the Weavers Birds had a pincushion and fob to use while stitching it. To avoid spoilers (I'm such a meanie) I am only using elements from the pattern sections given so far with a little embellishment to make things pretty.
I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.

Blackwork SAL - March
Welcome to the third part of the Blackwork SAL! I'm sorry it's late, I was busy stitching and forgot it was Tuesday. This month we will add the last two points to the star itself - from next month onwards you will get more each month. Like with the Mamluk SAL earlier this month I got a bit too carried away with pre-stitching and forgot to take a photo of what it looks like.

Friday Freebie: Pisac Weave
Happy Friday! This week no SAL post so instead I have something amazing planned for you! Waaaay back in the beginning of February I saw a post on Instagram by Presentlyin, a woman who currently lives in Peru and sells fabulous locally handmade items - sadly I'm not in a position to buy all the pretty stuff she sells so I stick to admiring them instead. Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining about the price of the things as they are hand made with love and the ladies who make these things get a fair price for them so it's totally worth it! They are just more than I can afford at this time.

Medieval Owl SAL - March
Welcome to the March edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month you finally get the first part of the owl and for many this will be the first part as they have chosen not to do the border. If you are one of these people please read this post carefully or your poor owl will have an amputated toe! Yes that's right - the March pattern does not have all of the owls toe.

Friday Freebie: 25 x 25 for 2019 - March
Welcome to the third of the 25 x 25 for 2019 patterns! This month the central area is mostly done with straight stitches! While it looks like the cross stitches are random if you look carefully you can see that if worked along diagonal lines it's pretty easy to see where to put the next stitch.

Friday Freebie: 50 x 50 for 2019 - March
Welcome back for the third edition of the 50 x 50 pattern series! This post is a little later than usual as I was determined to finish the stitching of the main pattern today. It should have been simple and done hours ago but... the kids are home due to a school holiday and kept needing me. The reason I wanted it done is because I'm behind on my stitching schedule and knew that I'd just set the unfinished embroidery aside to finish "later" and not get round to it. I won't be stitching the alternate pattern for the same reason but I will do a backstitched square and finish finish it later this month so it's completely done.

Friday Freebie: Ornament of the Month - March
Welcome
to the third Ornament of the Month for 2019! This month's colour is gold! Gold isn't a metal everyone likes to wear but almost everyone carries some around with them every day without seeing it! It's used in mobile phones and most of us have at least one in the house, if not more.
