I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.

In case you missed the post edit last time I'm including this here:
Important notice! I made a mistake with the date and gave the date for the Thursday instead of the Friday which it was supposed to be.I'm sorry for these errors, as you know I don't usually have these issues.
The correct start date for the main mystery is FRIDAY 15th November.
Also if you got the pattern shortly after the first pattern post went up you will have two incorrect colours in the pattern - this has now been changed. To get the correct information please re-download the pattern OR:
- Change colour E to DMC 921
- Change colour F to DMC 816

Friday Freebie: Cuteness
Happy Friday! This week is a non SAL week but I have a freebie for you as usual. Less usual is the lack of a real hint in the title of the post as to what the pattern is of. That's because I wanted to give you a bit of a surprise this week. The pattern itself happened entirely because I needed a pattern quickly and don't always like to go for the standard things. The pattern was made for the KLT vs Jodyri Designs Challenge month and I not only designed it but I also stitched and finish finished it within 24 hours!

Blackwork SAL - October
Welcome to the tenth part of the Blackwork SAL! This month has been going amazingly well! Not only have I caught up with the September part that I was behind on but I also stitched this month's pattern! I have no idea how I am managing to stitch so much as I have been doing a good 1500 stitches every weekend this month as well.

Friday Freebie: 25 x 25 for 2019 - October
Welcome
to the tenth 25 x 25 for 2019 pattern! This month I also managed to not only stitch it but finish finish it! This was, like last month against all odds as I cleared out the shed on Tuesday, made a couple of trips to the dump on Wednesday, followed by the cleaning of the rental van on Thursday. My arthritis is not impressed, nor is my rheumatism, but I now have space in my shed and garage - and the junk in the garden is gone too - I'm happy.

Medieval Owl SAL - October
Welcome to the October edition of the Medieval Owl SAL! This month you get the last bit of body: the chest! The next two parts are the head that you can see above! This month's pattern didn't get completely stitched - it's been a busy few weeks with the KLT vs Jodyri challenge AND in day to day life. Between a day trip to Utrecht with oldest to check out the new Lego shop (first in the country!), let oldest go to the skateboard shop to buy a shiny new skateboard, and a bit of roaming around checking out the many shops and buildings yesterday, and clearing out the shed in preparation for tomorrows trip to the dump with a rental van, I've worn myself out and wasn't able to do much stitching.

Friday Freebie: 50 x 50 for 2019 - October
Welcome back for the tenth edition of the 50 x 50 pattern series! This
month I was able to stitch over half of the main pattern but not the alternate
version - not surprising really since I lost yesterday's stitching time for this pattern to the October NFSAL that took much longer than expected to finish finish.

NFSAL 2019 - October
Welcome to the tenth NFSAL of 2019! This month I used two colours in my embroidery because the thread I'd done the cross stitch with didn't show up well when used for backstitch.

Mamluk Cross Stitch SAL - Part 10
Welcome to the tenth part of the Mamluk SAL! This month we are continuing the final row that was started when we did part three. This month I am up to date despite joining in with another of the Team KLT vs Team Jodyri challenge months! They are such fun and I get so much stitching done - it's really good for me.

The Next Mystery SAL: The Autumn Mystery SAL 2019
Great news: There will be an Autumn Mystery SAL this year! Since Halloween is still a bit difficult for me since it was my
brother's birthday (who died last year) I want to avoid starting a SAL
on or too near that date. I'm aware that few people will have days off in the weekend I am hosting this but want to
give it a go anyway - if it ends up with too many people struggling to keep up I'll take that into account next year. This
post has all the information you need to stitch it - well except the
patterns hehe. Please take the time to read everything carefully. Dates are right at the bottom of the post!

Friday Freebie: Ornament of the Month - October
Welcome
to the slightly late (but still on Friday for me) tenth Ornament of the Month for 2019! This month's colour is pumpkin - October really called for a nice orange and the one used in the pattern reminds me the most of pumpkins. Today's post is, as mentioned slightly late. I was trying to get the ornament finish finished before making the post but oldest came home early and wanted to get the apple jam made this evening rather than waiting till tomorrow. Since he rarely wants to do stuff with me I decided not to say no as its good time spent together and it's nice to just chop apples together and talk. We got 3 and 3/4 jars of jam from this batch - and we will be making strawberry apple jam tomorrow!

Finish It In...2019 - Check In Post, TUSAL, and More for October
Welcome to the eighth Finish It In... 2019 post for the year! (Since I skipped July and August). This month didn't have as many health issues as the three months before but I did wear myself out a few times - especially as my fridge decided that it was about to croak and I had to get a new fridge (I'm so glad I save money for emergencies like this!) and that required cleaning the old fridge and preparing the space for the new as it's a bit bigger than the last one. I also ended up making a batch of jam from the frozen fruit (Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cranberries, black currents, red currents and cherries all put together in the pan at the same time to make a single jam) that defrosted as they didn't fit in the cool box and the way I'd insulated them wasn't sufficient for the six hours they were out of a freezer. The jam is awesome!
