Great news: There will be another Spring Mystery SAL this year! This post has all the information you need to stitch it - well except the patterns hehe. Please take the time to read everything carefully.
I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.

Tutorial: Cording
I'll be giving a tutorial on how to make an ornament like the one above some time next week and thought it would be helpful if I also explain how I make cording and tassels. Today's tutorial is how to make cording.

Blackwork SAL - February
Welcome to the second part of the Blackwork SAL! This month we will add a little more to the central part of the star - just two triangles but you will get two more patterns added to your sampler. Together they are 10 x 10 stitches so not much to be done this month!

Friday Freebie: Blue Flowers
This week there is no SAL so I get to share something a little different! This week's pattern is put together using ten stitch square sections that can be added to as many (or as few) times as you like. Above you can see the 40 x 40 stitch pattern as given.

Valentines Competition: Results!
Last Thursday I posted a photo of this box and set you a challenge to guess which threads were going to be in the box with a few other nice things my fiancé had selected to put in it.

Friday Freebie: 25 x 25 for 2019 - February
Welcome to the second of the 25 x 25 for 2019 patterns! This month I went for a tiny overall pattern - I hope you like it and have fun with either by using the colours I set or by using your own colours! I swapped the red and yellow around on the back of my biscornu.

News: Ornament of the Month for 2015, NFSAL, and More
This is just a post to let all of you know that I have completed moving all of the Ornaments of the Month 2015 to my blog. I have posted them on the dates they were originally posted on the old site. The links in the sidebar now link to the new posts. The patterns are no longer on the NCC International Headquarters site, which also no longer exists. RIP to the site - it was good while it lasted but due to a lack of being able to make comments possible things did not go so well there.

Friday Freebie: 50 x 50 for 2019 - February
Welcome back for the second edition of the 50 x 50 pattern series! This week you not only have two choices but you get a pattern for each choice! It will make stitching the alternate pattern just that little bit easier. I have added the alternate pattern to last month's post too!

Finish It In...2019 - Check In Post for February
Welcome to the second Finish It In... 2019 post for the year! In this post I'll show you what I have done since the first post... well some of it as of course there are some things I can't show yet. Those things will show up sometime this month, or in some cases, next month! Yes that's right I even got some stitching done for March! For now I'll start where I started last month showing you the older things I want to finish.

Weavers Birds SAL - Part 2
Welcome to the second part of the Weavers Birds SAL! This month you get to see more of the birds and what's around them. I do hope the key I included last month helped you decide what colour to put where. No key this month as its all clear now.
For those of you wondering: I did make it to the post office last week - I had some fun and games as the intern I spoke to wasn't all that bright and couldn't seem to remember two things: 1) it had to have a track and trace 2) it had to be the cheapest possible (sometimes parcel is cheaper, sometimes normal mail... it depends) so he only did 2) and left me having to insist on it having track and trace too - not fun when the place is packed.

Friday Freebie: Ornament of the Month - February
Welcome
to the second Ornament of the Month for 2019! This month's colour is Sapphire! I love the stone so much - ever since I was little it's been my favourite stone for jewellery - I couldn't resist using this colour early on in the year.
