Finish It In...2019 - Check In Post, TUSAL, and More for July, August, and September.

Welcome to the seventh Finish It In... 2019 post for the year! Yes it's really been three months since my last Finish It In... 2019 post. Between getting ready for my summer holiday (and getting the kids ready to go to ex for that time as I usually make a break for it when they are at his place for two weeks in the summer), being away on holiday and then over a month of dealing with my infected finger I either couldn't stitch or wasn't feeling up to it. I'm feeling a lot better now and am getting ready to stitch again (just as soon as I have this blog post out of the way really as I'll **finally** be all caught up!) I'm not sure if I mentioned it but I did splurge recently and got myself a new dishwasher which has really made things easier for me and left me with more energy everyday as I don't have to stand and do the dishes any more. This post will be picture heavy but perhaps not so picture heavy as it could have been if I'd not had health issues.
Not sure what a TUSAL is? Click the picture!
As always I'm first going to start by showing you my ORTs - the bits of thread that get cut off and usually thrown away.
Yes, that's all there is since the last post - a pitiful amount that does show the backs of my needle minders nicely and being nice I'll show you the front of the jar too this time!
At the bottom left is the Stitching Pirates dA group needle minder, the lovely dragon (now holding a needle) that my friend Carla Eldridge gave me, the big round one is from the Lakeside Needlecraft Christmas tin from 2 years ago, then the Tiny Rebel Brewery badge that I made into a needle minder using a couple of magnets I took off a box (need better magnets really), and last of all is the needle minder that I bought from Kim of KLT Charting. What can I say... I like pretty things to look at and needle minders are good for adding to my jar.

Although this post is for three months I'm only going to show two pairs of pie charts one for June, and one for July/August combined.
In June I didn't do so much but still a reasonable amount considering that I also did some sewing that I didn't use Timesheet for. I made a new petticoat (with cartridge pleats!) and a pair of pockets (how did I manage without them all these years?) to add to my pirate wench costume that I wore at this year's Hastings Pirate Day - it was good fun and not too hot fortunately.
When split into tags you can really see where my time went!
July/August was so pitiful I not only combined both months together but also kept the project and tag images together in the single image. As mentioned more than once on this blog (and on this post probably) the summer of health issues did not really do much for me doing much of anything.

What I did do since the last post:

Ornament of the Month:
I did a bit of finishing and beading on the June and July ornaments but didn't get anything done on the August ornament.
June
July
August
Mamluk SAL:
This month I can only show you the July Mamluk SAL - I still have to stitch the rest.
Medieval Owl:
This is the only SAL I'm up to date with and that's mainly because I stitched the August and September parts way back in January.
Blackwork SAL:
I'm still terribly behind on this - I'll try and catch up this month.
50 x 50 for 2019:
I'm even more behind on this - so have nothing new to show.
25 x 25 for 2019:
This is the last 25 x 25 I had time to stitch: the June 25 x 25.

NFSAL:
As I didn't stitch the June one I don't have anything to show here.

Now it's your turn! Make a blog post if you blog, make a vlog/flosstube, a post on Instagram or Facebook and make sure I at least can see what you have stitched in the last month!  If you blog or vlog please put a link below - it will be fun to see what you have stitched and who knows... you may gain a larger audience in the process! Not sure how it works? Check out the overview post!

There is now a Facebook group just for this project so you don't have to wait till the first Wednesday of the month to share your progress on a project that isn't something I designed. You are encouraged to start your own photo album in the group so it's easy to see your progress between postings of each project. Members of my main group are automatically accepted others will need to be approved first. You can find the group here

I'll see you Friday for the September Ornament of the Month!

  2. So this may sound a little strange, but I promise it helps with life- when I don't want to do dishes I eat on paper plates!
