Friday Freebie: Needle Keeper

We all use needles and need a way to store them - I have both a needle book and pincushions. Over the years have discovered I am a pincushion parker when it comes to needles. The problem with this, of course, is that as I use many sizes of needles they all get mixed up together - a royal pain when you need a specific size for something.

So while I was stitching a bit more on Viking Dragon I came up with the idea to make a pincushion with sections for each size I use the most. I designed it using the newest DMC range as there still aren't that many patterns for the threads. You can of course use any colours you like - or even do what I did and use a single variegated thread for it!
I used Jodyri Designs 14ct Aida: Nevermore and 042R Sherbet Dip thread (all linked for your convenience to the correct products - I'm not affiliated etc. Just a happy customer of many years.) As you can see I'm a bit short on size 26 needles - but only because the rest are currently in use - I'm sure the needle keeper would be overflowing if I collected ALL my needles from ALL my projects!

Because we all have different needle requirements I included all of the numbers and a full alphabet so you can personalise it to your hearts content!

You can find the pattern here

Have fun stitching and see you next Tuesday for the next part of the Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler! If you are new to my blog please check the sidebars to find all of the SAL's I am hosting now and have hosted in the past!

  1. I don't really do the pin cushion parking, but I still think it's a brilliant idea!
