Welcome back! It's Friday so time for another freebie - this time the February Fob a Month pattern. Like last month I made a pattern inspired by the colour of a flower - daffodils this time as they start showing themselves around the middle of the month and really brighten my days, more so than crocuses which are too small to be seen from my window.
Like last month the pattern I designed turned out to be a bit on the big side so I decided to add a smaller pattern - both a front and a back - for the fob and call the bigger pattern what it really is size wise: a pincushion. I did the same for the January pattern and updated the pdf to one with the smaller pattern included (the link leads straight to the pattern so you can check it out straight away!).
Here you can see the stitched version of what is now the pincushion - it's 2 1/2 inches square and well... too big for a fob for my personal taste which is why I added a smaller pattern. Unfortunately I ran out of DMC 307 *and* this was the only bit of 28ct evenweave I have in the house so I wasn't able to stitch the fob too but you can certainly see what it looks like stitched.
You can find the pattern here
Have a great weekend! I'll see you next week Tuesday with the next instalment of the Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler!
I first started this blog due to "popular demand" for me to to share my cooking and quilting results in blog form as it was easier for friends and people who know me to see what I'm up to, especially compared to just an image hosting site. Now I blog because I enjoy sharing what I do and hope that I do in some way inspire people to try new things out as well.
