A slightly late Friday Freebie: Ornament of the Month - June

Welcome back for the sixth Ornament of the Month! This month it's a little late - sorry about that! I was in the middle of party prep for oldest's birthday sleepover and completely forgot to post it - and was too tired after. Working on the basis of better late than never I decided to post it now (even if it's also a lot later in the day - or night - than it usually is).

I still haven't stitched a single stitch so don't have the usual sample to show but I'm sure the picture will show it nicely. This month's pattern has the backstitches/straight stitches in black on the pdf just to help show the lines better as lime does not show up well. The "Spirograph" lines as my friend Carla calls them are easy to do - they are just huge straight stitches that you do one after the other which make a very pretty pattern. You MUST do this while having it in a hoop, doing it in hand leads to saggy lines later on.
Because it's easier to show than to explain I made a picture showing the stitching order of the lines. I included a mini version in the pdf but here is the bigger version just in case it's not clear enough when it's that small. You could of course reverse the order and start with the black lines first for one half and then continue on in a mirror image for the second half - that's up to you!
And this is the base or square ornament depending on how you wish to use it - a fun little pattern with flowers and leaves!

You can find the pattern here
You can find the Stitching Template here

I'll see you Tuesday for the 25th part of the Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler SAL - it's the first part of the second half!
