Welcome back for part 31 of the Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler SAL! This week we have been suffering under an almost unrelenting heatwave - it's not as bad as it was on Friday but still much too hot to do much of anything unless you *have* to. Fortunately I don't have to do much so I've been reading within range of the fan most of the time.

Friday Freebie: Four Tiny Squares

Happy Friday! Hopefully you are not being cooked alive by the heat waves that are happening all over the world but are able to keep more or less cool. This week I went tiny with my patterns as I thought that something you can do quickly might be nicer when it's almost too hot to hold a needle.

Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler SAL: Part 30

Welcome back for part 30 of the Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler SAL! This week I'm back from holiday so things should return to their normal state of things with the patterns being up shortly after this post. I had a good holiday eventually though getting away was a bit more difficult than anticipated as my flight was cancelled, and the replacement flight I got 2 days later was also cancelled! This time it was due to a bomb threat! Fortunately no bombs were actually found but it did stop all airport traffic for hours and meant the flight was rescheduled for the next day. I've had my excitement for the year... I much prefer boredom.

Friday Freebie: Stibbe Roman Mosaic Borders

Most of you will know by now that I love historical patterns - especially Roman mosaics. When I saw that the Stibbe Roman mosaics were being shown to the public I couldn't resist making a pattern based on part of one of the borders and transferring the second border in its entirety into cross stitch. Welcome back for part 29 of the Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler SAL! This week you get the seventh band! As an experiment I have included the whole of band seven in the image below but blurred out the bit you are not getting this week in an attempt to stop people stitching too far ahead while looking at the picture (it's been done *sigh*). This will hopefully let people who like to pick colours to see what is happening so they don't have to wait till the end of the month to stitch.

Welcome back for part 27 of the Weavers Tapestry Band Sampler SAL! This week I'm running late... I thought it was Monday and didn't think I needed to get the post up yet. Sorry about that! The good news is that we are starting band six today! It's just a two week band so we will soon be off stitching band seven.
