TW: Peacock Tapestry

As with the ECS I wanted to have a look and see what the fabric would look like with the colours needed for the PT to make sure that all the colours would be properly visible and look nice and I'm glad to say they do so I appear to have made a good choice when I bought that fabric 2 weeks ago before even deciding to do this. I won't be starting this one yet, I need to properly collect the threads I need first as quite a few of the colours you can see are already being used in other projects and I don't yet have the speciality threads I need either, however by the time I have completed the tile floor, ECS and Mike's Mushrooms I most definitively will. I have already decided that the 504 I have, which was discontinued by DMC, will be saved for this project so I have set it aside, along with some other skeins I had in my stash box, so a start has been made with collecting these threads. I have 8 colours of 73 and need 95 skeins in total + the Kreinick threads. I suddenly realise why the kits were always so expensive lol.

  1. Not trying to tell you what to do, but I'd recommend a warmer color for Peacock Tapestry. This fabric you got there in my eyes looks like a good choice for ECS, but is has that touch of grey and I think PT calls more for a touch of...yellow, if you know what I'm trying to say; something like antique white maybe. But your descision, of course.

That put aside, I'm really looking forward to have someone else working on PT ^_^

    1. Thanks for your thoughts - I do appreciate them as you are already working on yours :) I will give it some thought, I still have a while before I start this as I still have to collect all the threads.

I will hopefully be starting mine before you finish yours :)

  2. Another tip: start with the border otherwise it will never get done lol. I can't wait to see your version of Peacock Tapestry. This was the first design that went on my wish list (before I even had a blog or wishlist) and I was glad when it was re-released last year so I could get the chance to stitch it.

    1. That might be an Idea, I was considering doing the same way people do HEAD's - one page at a time :) I am however going to have to look for another fabric as the on in the photo just doesn't work. I made the freebie ornament that TW has available on her site on this fabric to see what it would look like and the border section barely showed up from a few steps away. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6A269oJlv0M/VLLKyGRrfsI/AAAAAAAABzA/-n6Yby9P-dQ/s1600/DSCF6889.JPG"
